Course Objectives

Successful completion of this course will enable the participant to:

• Describe the anatomy and physiology of the pelvic floor
• Demonstrate techniques for pelvic floor assessment and physical examination
• Recognize common abnormal assessment findings of the pelvic floor
• Recognize indications for referral to pelvic floor physiotherapy
• Describe all current intrauterine device options for patients 
• List the indications and contraindications for IUD insertion in primary care
• Demonstrate techniques for IUD insertion
• Describe appropriate follow-up recommendations and care after IUD insertion

How you will learn

• Small group, student-centered learning environment
• Pelvic model with 6 cervical pathologies, uterine pathologies & ovarian pathologies 
• Hands-on with all available IUD’s (insertion and removal techniques)
• Workbook provided in-class for all participants 

Course Cost

 Nurse Practitioner $150  (please register as "Individual")

 Under/part time employed $125 (please register as "Other")

 Nurse Practitioner Program Student $75
