In Canada, each province maintains its own Occupational Health and Safety guidelines and policies. The Occupational Health and Safety Act in Ontario recommends Respirator Mask Fit Testing to be conducted every 2 years. Some organizations will have health and safety policies that may require more frequent fit testing. Most healthcare organizations have a Pandemic Plan (see Ontario's Pandemic Plan) and anyone wearing a respirator mask must have a Fit Test as mandated by the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care. The objectives of respirator fit testing is to ensure that an effective facial seal is created and that each participant understands the selection, care and use of respirators.
We offer Mask Fit Testing for several models (i.e. N95, R95 and P100).
All of our Mask Fit Testing is conducted by a 3M Certified Fit Tester. Testing is done in accordance with the standards and pro~cedures of the respiratory mask manufacturer (3M), the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, the Ministry of Labour, the Canadian Standards Association and the National Institute of Safety and Health.
